Requirements

• Three or more years of professional experience in journalism, public relations, public information, communications, or media relations.
• Valid Texas Driver's license and good driving record.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary media contact for the Railroad Commission.
• Develop relationships with media and educate them on the agency's work.
• Respond to media inquiries accurately and in a timely manner.

• Conduct interviews and ensure the accuracy of printed and online materials.
• Assist Commissioners with media requests and outreach.
• Consult with the Communications Director on outreach programs.
• Identify stories to showcase the agency's positive work.
• Prepare and conduct press conferences.
• Compile daily news clips for internal distribution.
• Serve as a backup for social media posting.
• Assist in analyzing content for accessibility and recommend changes.
