About The Position

Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas has an RPA Engineering Developer Internship opportunity available for the summer of 2024 in the Engineering department. This position is eligible to work a hybrid schedule in accordance with our Telecommuting Policy. Applicants must reside in Kansas or Missouri or be willing to relocate as a condition of employment. This internship offers a dynamic work environment where you will collaborate with a team of passionate individuals and make a positive impact on the health and well-being of Kansans. The position offers flexibility with options to work onsite and hybrid, accommodating your school schedule.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled as an undergraduate in a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Engineering, Applied Computing, Management Information Systems, or related curriculum with at least 1 year in the program.
  • Minimum GPA of 2.75.
  • Working knowledge of multiple computer languages preferred (C/C#/C++, Python, VB.Net, SQL, HTML, Java, JavaScript).
  • Experience with the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience with process documentation preferred (Visio, flowcharts, Task Capture).
  • Experience automating processes using tools and techniques preferred (UiPath, Power Automate).
  • Communicate effectively with employees at all organizational levels.
  • Self-motivated and able to learn, develop and contribute in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare documentation and development for robotic process automation (RPA).
  • Analyze processes/activities and make automation recommendations for operational and functional areas.
  • Quantify savings to the organization based on projects that utilize RPA solutions.
  • Create process documentation and utilize business intelligence and data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau, etc.) converting data from various data sources into interactive dashboards and analysis reports.
  • Develop/maintain systems supported by Engineering Services.
  • Prepare and/or design new reports and coding as needed.
  • Regularly correspond with and answer questions from supervision and management concerning automation solutions.
  • Present summer projects in a final presentation to leadership.
  • Complete special projects as assigned.
