About The Position

The position involves building, fabricating, curing, and assembling various types of plastic, ceramic, and composite products and assemblies. This includes working with bonded and mechanically-fastened assemblies, especially when required information is not readily available, operational sequences change, tooling is inadequate, or when a deep understanding of the physical properties of materials is necessary. The role requires locating critical reference points and ensuring the coordination of parts and subassemblies to exacting tolerances, especially when incorporating design or modification changes. The job also entails building laminated assemblies, preparing parts for bagging, and operating various types of processing and curing equipment such as autoclaves and ovens. Additional responsibilities include performing rework, operating cutting and trimming machines, checking parts for defects, and collaborating with other personnel to determine fabrication and assembly sequences.
