About The Position

The Royalty Manager at MGA Entertainment, Inc. is responsible for supervising the Royalty Accounting team, ensuring accurate and timely accounting activities related to licensee billing, cash collections, and royalty revenue recording. This role involves preparing quarterly royalty statements, assisting with royalty forecasts and budget analysis, and supporting month-end close activities while ensuring adherence to internal controls and procedures.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree with an emphasis in Accounting, Finance, or a related business field required.
• 6-10 years experience in Royalty or Participations accounting, including 3-5 years in a managerial role.
• Familiarity with basic merchandise and promotional licensing contracts, including key terminology and finance-related terms.
• Ability to work independently, handle multiple assignments, and meet deadlines.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for interaction with licensees, licensing agents, and internal personnel.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and experience with Royalty Systems preferred.
• Some proficiency with Excel macros, VBA applications, and report/form design is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Supervise Royalty Analysts and ensure appropriate accounting activities are performed.
• Prepare Licensor quarterly royalty statements and ensure accuracy of reports and payments.
• Assist management with Royalty forecast, budget analysis, and ad hoc reports.
• Support month-end close activities, including journal entries and account reconciliations.
• Ensure adherence to internal controls and procedures in the Royalty Accounting department.
