About The Position

We are seeking an experienced property management professional with exceptional leadership, business and financial management, planning/problem solving and customer services skills to join our team! The Roving Property Manager is responsible for overseeing all matters in the operations of Aeon's apartment communities in the absence of a regular Property Manager and/or support the current management of the property(ies). This includes but is not limited to keeping the day-to-day operations running smoothly and efficiently to minimize the negative financial impact of a potential Property Manager vacancy. The Roving Property Manager is accountable to ensure all basic property management functions are completed as well as directing all site personnel in their duties in the absence of regular supervisory staff. In addition, when a new regular Property Manager is hired, the Roving Property Manager may remain at the property through the necessary onboarding of the new Property Manager. This may include training the new Property Manager on Aeon's policies, procedures, and expectations. The Roving Property Manager may also assist at properties where a Property Manager is in place, but operational challenges have made additional support necessary. This position reports to the Portfolio Director.

Requirements

  • Significant experience leading a property management or closely related business team.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to maintain positive resident relations resulting in strong resident retention.
  • Must be a resourceful, problem solving, relationship-building, seeker of excellence, with a commitment to Aeon's mission.
  • Solid and proven work ethic with the ability to use good judgment, prioritize and execute wide-ranging workload in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must have a commitment to learning and participating in Aeon's diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts.
  • A valid driver's license, reliable vehicle and vehicle insurance is required.
  • Ability to lift up to 10lbs.
  • Ability to reach above and below shoulder height.
  • Ability to sit and stand for extended periods.
  • Ability to conduct property tours and inspections: Includes walking through hallways, stairwells, leasing offices, common areas, and vacant or occupied apartment homes. This may involve navigating multiple floors and uneven surfaces.
  • Ability to file documents and enter data for extended periods.
  • Ability to work in varying external weather conditions.

Nice To Haves

  • Affordable housing including but not limited to Section 8 and Tax Credit experience is preferred.
  • Proven track record of preparing, understanding and managing budgets as well as increasing net operating income is a plus
  • Experience working with individuals experiencing or significantly impacted by mental health, substance use, poverty, and trauma is a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to engage in interpersonal communication that is culturally responsive, ensuring consideration for differing needs and expectations.
