About The Position

The position involves setting up and operating various woodworking machines including pallet jacks, boring machines, miter saws, slotter machines, and more. The operator will assist in offloading machinery and ensure that production needs are met by accurately setting up and operating the machines. The role requires attention to detail and adherence to safety protocols while handling wood stock and machinery.

Requirements

• Experience operating woodworking machinery.
• Ability to read and interpret production tickets.
• Familiarity with measuring tools such as rulers and tape measures.

• Physical ability to handle wood stock and operate machinery.

• Previous experience in a manufacturing or woodworking environment.
• Knowledge of various woodworking machines and their operations.
• Ability to troubleshoot machine issues.

Responsibilities

• Sets up and operates machines due to production needs.
• Examines frame ticket to determine what wood panels/parts are needed and quantity needed.
• Selects, installs, aligns, and adjusts cutterheads, forms, jigs needed to achieve proper quality tolerances.
• Measures shaped stock to verify size and quantity needed is produced using rulers and/or tape measures.
• May hold and push stock into cutterheads without aid of jig or guide.
• Ensures correct setup for boring machines, miter saws, slotters, and other machines as per production requirements.
• Engages machines using foot pedals or hand controls and places cut parts on shop cart.
• Verifies that correct files and forms are loaded in machines before operation.
• Monitors machine operation and inspects parts for quality.
• Handles wood stock and ensures proper feeding and clamping during machine operation.
