Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Solid work history with at least 1+ years at previous employers.
• Sales experience required; industry experience preferred.
• Proven safe work history.
• Ability to pass pre-employment math test, background check, drug screen, and physical.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Valid driver's license with proof of vehicle insurance required.
• Clean driving record and current driving abstract from the department of licensing at the time of interview.
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds regularly and maneuver large bulky racks of product.
• Ability to frequently bend, stoop, twist, reach, kneel, and squat while loading/unloading delivery trucks and shelving bakery products.
• Strong communication skills to interact with owners/managers and supervisors in grocery stores, restaurants, and institutions.
• Availability to work between the hours of 2 a.m. and 4 p.m. on weekdays, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Load a delivery truck with various bakery products at a regional loading depot.
• Deliver bakery products to retail and institutional customers.
• Retrieve outdated bakery products from customers and return them to the regional loading depot.
• Reorder bakery products and keep customers' shelves adequately stocked and properly faced.
• Meet or exceed budgeted objectives.
• Perform all assigned job duties in a safe, courteous, and timely manner according to company guidelines.
• Properly use handheld devices in accordance with company guidelines.
• Conduct pre-trip evaluations of the delivery truck according to Fleet Safety Policy.
• Operate and maintain the vehicle according to Smith Driving System and Fleet Safety Policy.
• Distribute products in accordance with Safe Work Methods and company guidelines.
• Perform additional duties and/or responsibilities as assigned.
