Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years+ of supervisory experience.
  • High school diploma. 2 years+ of higher education, vocational/technical certification or training preferred.
  • Knowledge of D.O.T. regulations and policies.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Excel and Word.
  • Must be able to receive emergency call-ins and dispatch the on-call driver on weekends on a rotating basis
  • Valid CDL Class A preferred
  • Experience with Telogis (Verizon Connect) and Salesforce preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and direct all drivers and technicians in the OMT Division.
  • Oversees and supports operations across multiple locations in Southern Oregon, California, Arizona, and Texas, providing leadership, coordination, and performance management.
  • Work with Customer Relations Representatives to ensure Customers are set up correctly in the Customer Service System.
  • Responsible for overseeing the routing for all the OMT routes.
  • Review and ensure that the dispatching, scheduling of drivers, and the maintenance of all routes are performed on a regular and timely basis.
  • Has full responsibility for the D.O.T program and drivers' file, assuring the program requirements are met, and the files are up to date for the OMT Division.
  • Review driver pre and post trip vehicle inspections and coordinate all preventative maintenance and repairs for the Division vehicles and equipment with approved mechanics for the OMT Division.
  • Perform driver ride-alongs and driving evaluations on a regular and continuing basis.
  • Resolve and follow up on all customer-related issues and communicate these issues as necessary to the Division General Manager and other members of the team.
  • Responsible for reviewing, having corrections made to, and approving the time cards for OMT Drivers and Technicians.
  • Responsible for approving vacation and time off requests for the drivers, and for ensuring that there is adequate coverage for the daily routes.
  • Assist with the hiring, training, development, and disciplining of the drivers and technicians. The position makes recommendations on hiring and termination of employees but final decisions are made by Corporate HR and the Division General Manager.
  • Explore possible new service areas and monitor and report on competitor activities in current and surrounding service areas.
  • Responsible for the renewal of all procurement related permits for the Division (with the exception of the Air Board and Water Board permits).
  • Visit customers as requested by the Division General Manager to verify quality of service, answer questions and ensure all services are being provided up to Company standards.
  • Answer after-hours emergency calls from drivers and customers, and make sure all customer service requests are properly followed up.
  • Assist with the annual budget as requested by the Division Controller.
  • Review and understand daily, weekly and monthly ERP and Verizon Connect reports to verify that all routes have been completed accurately, are being run efficiently, and route information recorded by the drivers is accurate and complete, and all service related issues are documented and resolved.
  • Responsible for communicating any Route and procurement department issues to the Division General Manager.
  • Conduct accident investigations for OMT Division drivers in cooperation with the Corporate Safety Director.
  • Oversee workman's compensation filings and OSHA reporting logs for the OMT Division.
  • Conduct formal safety educational meetings and “tailgate” training sessions with the employees for the OMT Division.
  • Assist in inspecting, ordering supplies for, and troubleshooting any issues at the different service yards as requested by the Division General Manager.
  • Interact with fellow employees, customers, and vendors in a professional and ethical manner at all times.
  • Follow all department and Company policies and procedures.
  • Keep up regular attendance and punctuality; regular attendance and punctuality are essential for the smooth operation of the OMT Division.
  • Other duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective operation of the business. These responsibilities may change from time to time as business needs evolve.
