About The Position
Spee-Dee Delivery is seeking a dedicated and self-motivated Route Driver to join our team in Milwaukee, WI. This full-time position is ideal for individuals who thrive in a fast-paced environment and possess a strong customer service orientation. As a Route Driver, you will serve as a representative of our company, responsible for making timely deliveries and pickups of freight from various customers and shippers. Your role is crucial in ensuring that our operations run smoothly and that our customers receive their packages in a timely manner. The Route Driver position requires a commitment to safety and professionalism. You will be expected to inspect the vehicle for any mechanical issues and report them promptly. Loading the truck efficiently to maximize space and prevent damage to packages is also a key responsibility. In addition to delivering and picking up freight, you will be responsible for collecting payments for certain packages and verifying the contents of pickups against shipping documents. Maintaining a professional appearance and cleanliness of the vehicle is essential, as is assisting other drivers and operations personnel as needed. This position offers a competitive wage ranging from $20.00 to $24.00 per hour, based on experience, with opportunities for overtime. You will typically work Monday through Friday, starting at 7:30 AM until the completion of your route, with an expectation of 10-15 hours of overtime each week. Voluntary overtime may also be available on weekends as needed, and any overtime worked beyond 40 hours per week will be compensated at time and a half.
