Ergon - West Virginia, Inc. in Newell, WV currently has an opening for a Rotating Equipment Trainee. This position provides 24/7 service and support for the repair and service of rotating, instrument, electrical and other mechanical related equipment. Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • 1 year experience in an industrial maintenance setting.
  • Basic understanding of centrifugal and reciprocating pumps, compressors, turbines, gearboxes, couplings, bearings, lubrication systems, packing and mechanical seals.
  • Familiarity with mechanical measurements and tools.
  • Troubleshooting mindset with a commitment to continuous learning.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience with Microsoft products
  • Must be available for off hours facility support.

Nice To Haves

  • Understanding of vibration analysis and condition monitoring principles is desired.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the installation, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of all mechanical related equipment including but not limited to compressors, lobe compressors, centrifugal pumps, gear pumps, diaphragm pumps, screw pumps, steam turbines, lubrication systems and metering pumps.
  • Assist in completing all general maintenance tasks.
  • Complete work orders and properly document service and repairs.
  • Assist in installation of small bore screw pipe and tubing jobs.
  • Assist in cleaning of tanks and cleanup of oil spills.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on mechanical equipment.
  • Learn proper use of tools, alignment equipment and measurement instruments.
  • Support execution of lubrication, seal replacement, bearing inspections and mechanical adjustments.
  • Learn fundamentals of vibration analysis, alignment, balancing and thermography.
  • Assist in data collection for condition monitoring systems and help identify early warning signs of equipment failure.
  • Comply with all safety rules including lockout/tagout, permitting and hazard identification.
  • Maintains compliance with all OSHA, state and federal regulations pertaining to area of responsibility.
  • Maintains good working relationships with co-workers and vendors.
