About The Position

We are seeking a skilled Rotary Grinder Machinist to inspect, prepare, and grind precision components while ensuring compliance with engineering specifications, safety standards, and quality requirements.

Requirements

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Working knowledge of algebra, geometry, and trigonometry.
  • Ability to diagnose and correct equipment or process issues using test equipment and/or prior experience.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to understand written correspondence and technical documentation.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or able to comply with U.S. export regulations.
  • Ability to stand, sit, or bend for up to 10 hours per day.
  • Ability to lift up to 35 pounds unassisted and with control.
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, ear protection, and safety shoes.
  • Ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Completion of a surface grinding apprenticeship program or equivalent hands-on experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect parts prior to grinding to identify chips, cracks, or defects.
  • Verify workpiece dimensions against blueprint specifications.
  • Inspect incoming parts from other departments for accuracy and quality.
  • Review blueprints for inconsistencies and communicate findings as needed.
  • Apply basic grinding principles and practices to support accurate machining operations.
  • Record job times accurately for tracking and reporting purposes.
  • Provide input and suggestions to improve manufacturing processes and efficiency.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area at all times.
  • Comply with all company policies, safety procedures, and state and federal regulations.
  • Promote a respectful, inclusive, and harassment-free workplace.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
