About The Position

POSITION SUMMARY CHA was recently awarded a grant from the Department of Housing and Urban Development to implement a ROSS Service Coordinator grant that will provide additional support to CHA’s Victim Assistance Program (VAP). Accordingly, CHA has hired three (3) grant‐funded ROSS VAP Service Coordinators. The ROSS Grant VAP Service Coordinators serves as the primary point of contact for residents seeking services through CHA’s VAP and is responsible for ensuring that the program and scope of work is executed with the highest quality and efficiency. This position anticipated end date is 5/31/2028

Requirements

  • This position requires a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in human services, or related field plus other related experience or a combination of education and one (1) year experience.
  • The position requires familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (e.g., Word, PowerPoint, and Excel) and the ability to work extensively with spreadsheets and other sources of large amounts of data and internal data systems.
  • Requires work in the field with external partners and residents; a valid Driver’s License is required.
  • Must possess good verbal and written skills, excellent interpersonal communication, and customer relation skills, be energetic, focused, and able to handle and prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Awareness of relationship of violence, child abuse, stalking, and sexual abuse/assault.
  • Experience working on tight deadlines and managing priorities.
  • Ability to complete and maintain resident records that document services provided.
  • Has excellent verbal (including public speaking) and written communication skills.
  • Has a personable demeanor and able to motivate others, is an excellent collaborator, results‐oriented, and has excellent follow through.

  • Knowledge of Public Housing programs and understanding of its policies is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Serves as a primary point of contact for residents seeking services through the Victim Assistance Program.
  • Provide advocacy services and support to survivors of violence, stalking, and sexual assault or abuse.
  • Provides linkage and referral information for residents seeking VAP services.
  • Assists residents who have been relocated with acclimating to their new neighborhood, including assistance with enrolling children in school, researching and accessing medical care, coordinating transportation, and researching and accessing career or educational opportunities in the new neighborhood.
  • Attends meetings as directed to represent program area or CHA.
  • Works collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Regularly identifies program issues to Division leadership and makes recommendations and implements procedural and program changes accordingly.
  • Manages multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Responds to change in a positive manner.
  • May be asked to handle tasks outside of job description in order to meet broader goals of CHA and Resident Services.
  • Performs all other duties and projects as assigned.
