About The Position

This position will be responsible for managing the safe and effective operation and maintenance of the on-track Ultrasonic Rail Test vehicles.

Requirements

• Applicants must have reached the age of 21 or above.
• Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
• Proficient verbal communication skills
• Able to understand and apply safety rules, practice safe work habits, identify safety risks and avoid potentially risky behaviors and situations
• 1 or more years of experience operating hy-rail test equipment
• Able to become track qualified and pass required safety and rule compliance tests
• Ultrasonic Non-Destruction Testing Level 1 and Level 2 Certification
• Experience reading and understanding instructions (examples may include: operating and safety rules, bulletins, special instructions, and federal regulatory documents)

Responsibilities

• Understanding of ultrasonic non-destructive testing
• Operate a hy-rail vehicle on the track
• Ensure compliance with all railroad rules and regulations for safety, operations and Federal Railroad Administration (FRA)
• Inspect and maintain electronic equipment
• Develop and maintain positive working relationships with coworkers, supervisors, contractors and/or customers, and effectively handle conflict situations
• Operate, inspect and perform light maintenance on a medium duty truck (26,000 to 33,000 GVWR)
