About The Position

The Rooms Preventive Maintenance Engineer at The Whitehall Houston is responsible for maintaining and repairing cosmetic items and mechanical equipment in hotel rooms and public spaces. This role involves performing various work order tasks, assisting with guest service calls, and ensuring a high level of service and satisfaction is achieved and maintained.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1-year experience in a similar job or in the hospitality industry is preferred.
• Ability to use hand tools and power tools.

Responsibilities

• Maintain all mechanical and cosmetic items in the hotel according to the preventative maintenance schedule.
• Assist engineering staff in repairs when necessary.
• Maintain a neat, clean, and organized work area in the engineering shop.
• Prepare daily work forms.
• Routinely inspect all lighting throughout the hotel, identifying potential problems and resolving them.
• Respond to maintenance requests and house calls.
• Ensure a maximum level of service and satisfaction is achieved and maintained.
• Maintain a working knowledge and understanding of all rules, regulations, and controls of the company.
• Responsible for the correct use of office equipment, EMS system, and Life Safety Systems.
