About The Position

We offer retreat-like amenities and our friendly and knowledgeable team will ensure our guests have a memorable stay. We are seeking a detail-oriented Rooms Preventative Maintenance Attendant responsible for maintaining the quality, safety, and appearance of guest rooms through proactive maintenance and repair. This role focuses on identifying, repairing, and preventing issues within hotel guest rooms to ensure they remain in excellent condition for guests. The attendant will perform routine inspections, preventative maintenance, and other upkeep tasks to restore and maintain rooms to brand and quality standards. This position plays a critical role in maintaining guest satisfaction by ensuring every room remains in top condition.

Requirements

  • Basic knowledge of trades, including electrical, plumbing, carpentry and mechanical experience.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude for the operation and repair of electrical equipment.
  • Skill in the use of related tools (including both hand and electrical tools.)
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to read, listen and communicate effectively in English both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to write routine Maintenance Reports.
  • Able to deal with a number of problems with various levels of complexity, requiring initiative and good judgement.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Meets legal age requirements for the position.
  • High school diploma is preferred.
  • Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school or any other combination of education, training or experience that provides the required knowledge skills and abilities.
  • Must have a valid California Driver License.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior Maintenance experience is preferred.
  • HVAC Certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine preventative maintenance inspections on guest rooms.
  • Document maintenance activities and report larger repair needs.
  • Repair wall chips, dents, scuffs, and drywall damage.
  • Patch and repaint walls, ceilings, and trim.
  • Repair or replace damaged baseboards and molding.
  • Touch-up furniture finishes and repair minor furniture damage.
  • Restore grout lines and tile finishes.
  • Polish sinks, fixtures, and metal hardware.
  • Restore and polish bathroom tile and surfaces.
  • Replace shower heads and plumbing fixtures.
  • Shampoo carpets and remove stains.
  • Steam clean curtains and drapes.
  • Repair or adjust door hinges and closers.
  • Inspect sliding doors and windows.
  • Repair or replace door handles and hardware.
  • Maintain door seals and weather stripping.
  • Inspect and repair desks, chairs, dressers, and headboards.
  • Tighten loose screws and fittings.
  • Repair drawer tracks and hinges.
  • Ensure all furniture is stable and functional.
  • Inspect smoke detectors and safety equipment.
  • Ensure emergency lighting and safety features are operational.
  • Identify hazards and report safety concerns.
  • Maintain compliance with hotel safety standards.
  • Work closely with housekeeping and engineering teams.
  • Maintain tools and equipment.
  • Keep maintenance areas organized and safe.
  • All other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
