About The Position

To ensure that the resort’s room inventory is controlled, to maximize revenue and increase occupancy. To increase guest satisfaction by providing efficient and courteous guest service in accordance with the standard of the Hilton Sandestin Beach Golf Resort & Spa. To increase guest satisfaction and loyalty by ensuring room type and other special requests are fulfilled

Requirements

  • Must successfully complete OnQ PMS and R&I computer-based training
  • Must possess the skill required to perform various secretarial functions if necessary.
  • Must have the ability to work under pressure without letting that pressure show to the guest.
  • Must possess good organizational skills.
  • Must be able to concentrate and exert good judgment as the front desk is a very busy area and the focal point of the hotel.
  • Must have a good “telephone voice and manner”
  • Must have some basic math skills.
  • Previous hotel front desk or reservations experience required.

Nice To Haves

  • Supervisory or previous Rooms Controller experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Pre-assigns incoming groups, Hilton Honors guests, and other “Best Guests” using the CRM report taking into account special requests and available upgrades.
  • Monitors room type availability for groups to ensure that room types are available when total rooms are available.
  • Monitors and processes upgrades.
  • Monitors the tape chart daily to ensure that there are no match blocks.
  • Coordinates with Reservations, Event Planning, and Revenue Management to ensure same day reservations requests are not overlooked.
  • Coordinates with Engineering and Housekeeping in monitoring and managing out of order and blocked rooms.
  • Demonstrates a working knowledge of all services and facilities in the hotel.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in the hotel’s property management system, ONQ.
  • Attends weekly staff meetings with group resumes to understand groups’ blocks and needs.
  • Monitors pending rooms and place reservations in Vacant/Ready rooms when possible.
  • All other responsibilities as assigned by your supervisor.
  • Assists front desk with check-in and check-outs, room re-assignments, in-house moves, and daily checklists when necessary.
  • Answers reservations phone calls as needed and assist when call volume is high.
