About The Position

The main purpose of the Rooms Controller is to control the house the same day and short term. This person must assure that overbooking in room categories is reconciled and that rooms are reserved as efficiently as possible.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must have excellent organizational skills.
  • Must have excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with Loyalty Ambassador, and all Select Guest member programs, promotions and benefits.
  • Ensure perfect delivery of all package elements, hand-written turndown cards and VIP amenities in conjunction with Housekeeping, Room service and FD.
  • Review and respond to Medallia comments.
  • Deliver unique requests and anticipate guest needs based on past alerts.
  • Fix oversells.
  • Follow up and update profile notes.
  • Serve as the Ambassador for the Front of the House.
  • Be thoroughly acquainted with all check-in policies and procedures.
  • Ensure Select Guests and VIPS are assigned appropriately.
  • Be thoroughly acquainted with all check-out policies and procedures.
  • Be familiar with guest scenarios.
  • Be familiar with all technical equipment related to the Front Desk.
  • Review group resumes and note information in Log Book on the appropriate day.
  • Review and clear all flags and mailboxes.
  • Be familiar with all hotel facilities.
  • Have complete understanding of room type availability.
  • Understand and complete the Rooms Controller Checklist.
  • Ensure Duplicate Check is completed.
  • Have full understanding of Select Guest Program.
  • Train new Front Desk Associates.
  • Manage all daily room changes.
  • Understand the Reservations restrictions board.
  • Run desk in short staff situations.
  • Have complete understanding of blocking the house.
