The Room Service Waitstaff serves meals to guests in their rooms. This role involves taking room service orders over the telephone, relaying them to the kitchen, and transporting food and beverages to guest rooms using a tray or serving cart. Responsibilities include setting up tables, serving food, answering guest questions, and responding to requests for additional service. The waitstaff also collects dirty dishes, performs opening and closing procedures, checks and stocks supplies, describes specials, accurately records guest orders, operates the MICROS Computer System, completes tray pick-ups throughout the resort, orders and sets up amenities, and completes end-of-shift paperwork. Maintaining proper sanitation, safety procedures, and cleanliness in work areas is essential. The position requires adherence to all policies and procedures outlined by management and the employee handbook, assuming delegated responsibilities, attending mandatory meetings, and acting as an extension of the security department by observing questionable activities. The waitstaff must understand and abide by the resort's environmental practices, maintain a resort-issued bank for cashiering, and drive a company vehicle to deliver orders to guests outside the immediate hotel/tower building.
