POSITION SUMMARY: To ensure all guests are greeted in a friendly and courteous manner using appropriate procedures in accordance with Big Cedar Standards. Answer phones when needed, take food orders, prepare trays for delivery, deliver and collect trays. Handle payment transactions and assist with opening and closing procedures. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Take Room Service orders over phone when needed in a professional manner ensuring all information is correct in accordance with the Room Service Menu. Assist with room service order setup to ensure every order is to specified standard with keen attention to detail. Smile and greet all guests in a pleasant manner while properly setting the table for guests when delivering trays as well as when picking up room service trays. Perform opening and close of shift accounting procedures by receiving daily cash outs from the servers and process with the proper payment method. Have full knowledge of Point of Sale system. Responsible for the care of the vehicle used for deliveries: check-out/in, fuel, and operate numerous vehicles safely. Follow liquor liability law. ALL OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum Degree Required: High School Diploma or Equivalent Preferred Degree: High School Diploma or Equivalent Must have a clean driving record. Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license. Ongoing verification of driving eligibility will be conducted to ensure compliance with company and regulatory standards. Must be at least 18 years old to qualify for this position. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY: Communicate effectively orally and in writing as appropriate for the needs of the audience. Reading Comprehension - Understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents. Oral Comprehension - The ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences. Basic Computer Skills - Using basic computer hardware and software (e.g., personal computers, word processing software, Internet browsers, etc.). Analytical/Critical Thinking - The ability to gather and organize information using a logical and systematic process; recognize patterns and relationships in complex data; examine data to identify implications, problems and draw appropriate conclusions; generate alternative solutions to problems; evaluate strengths, weaknesses and consequences of alternative solutions and approaches to solving problems. Guest and Personal Service - Knowledge of principles and processes for providing guest and personal services. This includes guest’s needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of guest satisfaction. Number Facility - The ability to add, subtract, multiply, or divide quickly and correctly. TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: This position is a driving position. A company vehicle will be provided for associate to deliver all orders to guests. Travel is not limited to Big Cedar Lodge property. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Regularly walks, stands, and lifts up to 50 lbs. Occasionally does computer work. Seldom/Never sits. INDEPENDENT JUDGEMENT: Performs tasks and duties under general supervision, using established procedures and innovation. Chooses from limited alternatives to resolve problems. Occasional independent judgment is required to complete work assignments. Often makes recommendations to work procedures, policies, and practices.
