About The Position

The Waldorf Astoria Chicago is looking for a Room Service Server to join the team in Chicago's Gold Coast! Recognized as one of the Best Hotels in the World and in Chicago with the Top Hotel Spa in the U.S., the AAA Five Diamond, Forbes 4 Star Waldorf Astoria Chicago is nestled in the prestigious Gold Coast neighborhood among the famed Oak Street retailers and beach, Rush Street restaurants and nightlife, and The Magnificent Mile. Reminiscent of the grand Parisian hotels of the 1920s, this luxury hotel features 215 rooms, over 5,000 square feet of meeting space, and 4 food and beverage outlets. This includes a restaurant, 2 bars, and in-room dining. A Room Service Server is responsible for delivering and serving food and beverage items to guests in a timely, friendly and efficient manner in the hotel's continuing effort to deliver outstanding guest service and financial profitability.

Requirements

• Must be available to work weekdays, weekends, overnights and holidays
• Complete open availability required as this is a union position
• Comfortable with a schedule and hours that may vary from week to week

Responsibilities

• Set up room service trays and tables to prepare for incoming orders
• Retrieve checks, set tables according to specifications, retrieve food and beverage orders from the kitchen and bar and deliver food to guest rooms and meeting rooms
• Serve meals to guests, collect guest trays and respond to guest requests in a timely, friendly and efficient manner
• Present checks to guests and obtain payment
• Return payments/signed checks to order taker
• Perform order taker duties and answer room service telephone, as needed
• Serve alcoholic/nonalcoholic beverages in accordance with federal, state, local and company regulations
• Overnight shifts will be required
