About The Position

Under the general supervision of the Patient Services Director and management team, the Room Service Host is responsible for communicating effectively, timely, and courteously with patients, family members, and staff members when distributing menus to all new admissions, obtaining meal choices and delivering/collecting patient trays snacks and tube feeding products. Responsible for communicating with nursing staff related to patients' diet and meal delivery. Requirements

  • Ability to read and communicate in the English language.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals and the ability to compute percentages.
  • High School graduate or equivalent preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal communication and customer service skills.
  • Strong basic computer skills.
  • At least one-year previous food service or customer service experience is required.
  • CBORD experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Communicating effectively, timely and courteously with patients, nursing, and family members when obtaining meal choices to enter into the CBORD computerized Room Service tablet system.
  • Verifying patient satisfaction, identifying meal service problems and assisting patients on missed meal report for menu selections each meal.
  • Communicating with the dietitian or dietetic technician when patient food/beverage/supplement intake is poor.
  • Communicating patient's special requests for food not allowed on their diets or diet education.
  • Accurately entering and updating all meal selections/orders/preferences/special request for food in CBORD system.
  • Maintaining clean and sanitary work environment and performing cleaning and waste disposal and equipment operation duties in accordance with departmental policies and/or procedures.
  • Identifying safety hazards in the department and reacting to eliminate hazards quickly.
  • Delivering all patient nourishments, snacks and tube feeding products.
  • Working well in a team environment.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.
  • May be required to perform duties of the Room Service Call Representative as needed.
