About The Position

This position is a key part of the housekeeping department, focused on maintaining cleanliness and quality control. The Room Inspector will prioritize and inspect guest rooms, ensuring all cleaning standards are met, and will also manage room status updates and housekeeping reports. The role requires considerable physical effort, including walking and lifting, and a strong understanding of safety protocols and communication.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) and a minimum of six months of hotel housekeeping experience.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Knowledge of OSHA requirements related to the hotel industry.
  • Expert knowledge of proper chemical usage and blood-borne pathogens.
  • Ability to lift and carry objects up to 50 lbs.
  • Must have the flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect and approve the cleaning of guest rooms and storage areas and provide direction to room attendants for any necessary corrections.
  • Prioritize and update the status of guest checkouts and pickups.
  • Update and verify room statuses on applicable devices and complete the housekeeping report at the end of each shift.
  • Check all cleaning aids and equipment, ensuring compliance with hotel safety and OSHA guidelines.
  • Prepare and distribute morning assignment reports to the housekeeping team.
  • Assist in resolving issues and responding to requests and complaints from guests and coworkers.
