About The Position

The Room Inspector is responsible for inspecting designated guest rooms, ensuring they have been properly cleaned and stocked for guest arrivals in compliance with hotel standards of quality and cleanliness. In addition, the Inspector assists in training Room and House Attendants as well as performs Room or House Attendance duties as needed.

Requirements

  • Ability to read, write, understand, and communicate basic English.
  • Solid knowledge of all duties related to the housekeeping department.
  • Strong organization, attention to detail, interpersonal and multi-tasking skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • The ability to work with minimal supervision and be self-motivated.
  • Good computer skills including MS Excel, Word, Room management and guests requests programs, and email.
  • Ability to learn all company training and safety materials.
  • Proven ability to work cohesively with co-workers as part of a team.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of guest information and pertinent hotel data.
  • Flexible scheduled that may include holidays and weekend and any day of the week.

Nice To Haves

  • Supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Thoroughly inspects all rooms for cleanliness and maintenance issues.
  • Records inspection results and changes the status of rooms that are ready after rooms have passed inspection.
  • Ensures proper use of inventory and supplies.
  • Reports any missing, damaged or maintenance issues in rooms immediately.
  • Resolves guest complaints in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Communicates any guest issues and feedback to the management team to ensure appropriate actions are taken.
  • Coordinates, prioritizes, and assigns responsibilities to Housekeeping staff in the absence of the manager.
  • Complies with and ensures compliance with security procedures.
  • Assists in training new housekeeping staff as needed.
  • Assists with housekeeping and other duties as needed.
  • Understands and follows all company, Environmental, Health, and Safety Management Programs.
  • Enforces correct use of chemicals and equipment as trained.
  • Checks all cleaning aids and equipment, ensuring compliance with hotel safety guidelines.
  • Complies with and ensures compliance with key, radio and security procedures.
  • Ensures housekeeping requests from guests or management are responded to in a timely, efficient, & friendly manner.
  • Assists in cleaning guestrooms and processing laundry as needed.
  • Performs other duties as required.
