About The Position

The Room Attendant is responsible for cleaning and servicing assigned guest rooms and bathrooms according to established procedures and standards. This includes tasks such as changing sheets, making beds, vacuuming, dusting all surfaces, and cleaning mirrors in both stay-over and check-out rooms. The attendant must replenish supplies like drinking glasses, writing materials, bathroom amenities, and linen, and transport trash to disposal areas. Key responsibilities also involve notifying guest services upon room completion, reporting any unserviced rooms, needed repairs, unsafe conditions, and lost and found articles to the supervisor. The role requires maintaining a neat and organized linen cart and maid station, ensuring the security of issued equipment and keys, and replacing light bulbs. The attendant must adhere to specific brand and company cleaning standards, follow team cleaning and self-inspecting programs, and respond promptly and courteously to guest requests, escalating complaints to the appropriate department and following up to ensure satisfaction. A professional image through appearance and dress, and adherence to company policies and procedures, are also expected.

Responsibilities

  • Cleans and services assigned guest rooms and bathrooms in a timely and organized manner according to procedures and standards.
  • Changes sheets, makes beds and vacuum in both stay-over and check out guest rooms.
  • Dusts entire guest room including tables, nightstands, dressers, light fixtures, televisions, air condition units, and window ledges in all rooms.
  • Cleans all mirrors.
  • Notifies guest services (front desk) when service is complete so rooms may be sold.
  • Reports any room unable to be serviced within appropriate time standards to the supervisor.
  • Reports needed repairs of unsafe conditions to the supervisor.
  • Responds to requests from guests, supervisors or management in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Maintains linen cart and supplies neat and organized to department standards.
  • Maintains the security of equipment, keys, and supplies issued each day.
  • Reports lost and found articles to the supervisor.
  • Replaces light bulbs.
  • Transports trash and waste to disposal area.
  • Replenishes supplies such as drinking glasses, writing, bathroom supplies, and linen.
  • Cleans rooms in accordance to the specific brand and company minutes per room standard.
  • Follows procedures for team cleaning and self-inspecting program.
  • Responds quickly to guest requests in a friendly manner.
  • Reports appropriate complaints or requests to the appropriate department.
  • Follows up to ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Keeps maid station clean and organized, and makes rollaway beds.
  • Provides a professional image at all times through appearance and dress.
  • Follows company policies and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor or management.
