A 9th-floor rooftop garden, formerly known as Alto. Open daily (weather permitting), our rooftop space invites guests to cozy up to the firepits and dine on tasty small plates while sipping seasonal cocktails, all with panoramic city views as a backdrop. About the job We are seeking a Barback primarily support our Rooftop Pool Bar and may also assist with the Lobby and Music Hall as needed. The Barback anticipates the needs of the bartender by ensuring the bar is well-stocked, organized, and cleaned.

Requirements

• High School Degree
• Minimum 18 years of age
• US work authorization required
• Ability to satisfactorily communicate in verbal and written English with guests, management, and co-workers to their understanding.
• Prioritize and organize work assignments, and have timely follow-up and execution.
• Have superb time management skills.
• Maintain complete knowledge of all hotel services/features and hours of operation.
• Sit, walk, and stand continuously.
• Lift / carry 25lbs (frequently) and 50lbs (occasionally)
• Bend, squat, crawl, and reach above shoulder level.
• Use dominant hand coordination for simple grasping, pushing/pulling, and fine manipulation.
• May be exposed to extreme temperatures, dust, dampness, height, and moving machinery.

Nice To Haves

• Previous hotel/resort experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Assists bartenders in daily functions of restocking (liquor, beer, garnishes, juices, etc.).
• Remove plates and silverware when guests are finished (pre-bus).
• Maintain stock of all glassware and other utensils; wash dirty utensils as needed.
• Maintain positive guest relations at all times.
• Performs side work as needed throughout the shift.
• Follows all safety and sanitation policies.
• Other duties may be assigned.
