About The Position

The Roofing Laborers at Flynn Group of Companies are responsible for the installation and repair of PVC and vinyl type flat roofs on commercial buildings. This role involves working on new installations, replacing previously installed or damaged roofs, and repairing asphalt and TPO roofing systems. Requirements

• Ability to climb ladders, scaffolds, and stairs.
• Comfortably lift approximately 50 pounds.
• Exposure to various commercial roofing systems is ideal but not required.
• Knowledge of hand-held and power tools such as hand torches, hot air welders, and nail guns is ideal but not required.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with various types of roofing system materials and coating applications such as single ply, modified bitumen, and BUR.
• Familiarity with the use of hand-held and power tools.

Responsibilities

• Perform installation and repair of PVC and vinyl flat roofs on commercial buildings.
• Work on new installations, replacements, and repairs of asphalt and TPO roofing systems.
• Work safely with crew members during roofing system installations.
• Install single ply roofing systems using waterproof sheet materials.
• Install conventional 4 ply built-up roofing systems using asphalt saturated felts and hot asphalt.
• Install modified bitumen roofing and standing seam metal roofing.
• Install vapor barriers and insulation layers on flat roof decks.
• Cut roofing paper to size and secure it to roofs in overlapping strips.
• Set up barriers and scaffolding for safe roof access.
• Coat top layers for a smooth finish or embed gravel for rough surfaces.
• Load and unload materials and transfer them to designated areas.
