Roofing & Building Envelope Project Manager
About The Position
We are looking for a knowledgeable Project Manager specializing in roofing and building envelope systems to lead consulting and inspection projects for commercial and institutional properties. This position focuses on evaluating roof conditions, developing repair strategies, preparing construction documents, and overseeing project execution from assessment through completion. The role combines technical inspection work, consulting expertise, and project management responsibilities. You will work directly with property owners, facility managers, and contractors to help maintain roof assets, improve building performance, and guide repair or replacement projects. This opportunity is ideal for a professional with experience in roof systems, waterproofing, or building envelope construction who enjoys both field inspections and technical consulting responsibilities.
Requirements
- Experience working with roofing systems, waterproofing assemblies, building envelope consulting, or commercial construction projects
- Strong understanding of roofing systems such as TPO, EPDM, PVC, BUR, modified bitumen, and metal roofing
- Ability to review and interpret construction drawings, plans, and technical specifications
- Experience coordinating contractors and managing project schedules
- Strong technical writing and documentation skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and construction documentation tools
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel locally for project site visits
- Ability to work full-time onsite
Nice To Haves
- Experience in roof consulting, forensic investigations, or facility asset management
- Familiarity with moisture scanning, infrared roof inspections, or diagnostic testing methods
- Background in construction management, engineering, or building sciences
- Professional industry certifications such as RRO, RRC, CDT, or similar credentials
Responsibilities
- Manage roofing and building envelope consulting projects from initial inspection through project closeout
- Conduct roof condition surveys, system evaluations, and moisture investigations
- Prepare detailed technical reports, repair specifications, and bid documentation
- Support clients with capital planning and long-term roof asset management strategies
- Coordinate contractor bidding processes and assist with construction phase administration
- Perform job site visits to review installation quality and confirm compliance with project specifications
- Review contractor submittals, shop drawings, and supporting documentation
- Maintain project schedules, documentation, and technical records
- Communicate findings, recommendations, and progress updates clearly with clients and stakeholders
