About The Position

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Cook to join our culinary team at The Roof at theWit. As a Roof Cook, you will be responsible for preparing high-quality dishes in a fast-paced environment. You will work alongside other kitchen staff to ensure timely preparation, presentation, and delivery of food to our guests. A strong passion for cooking, attention to detail, and ability to work under pressure are essential for success in this role.

Requirements

  • Comprehensive understanding of the English language.
  • Must be able to lift, push, pull and carry up to 50 lbs. to include serving trays, carts, tables, chairs, and small equipment up to 75% of the time.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time without sitting or leaning.
  • Able to work in a high-pressure environment.
  • Knowledge of basic sanitary guidelines.
  • Must be able to hear with 100% accuracy with correction.
  • Must be able to see 20/20 vision with correction.
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality and consistency.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
  • Team-oriented with a positive attitude and strong work ethic.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook menu items according to standardized recipes and portion sizes.
  • Ensure all food is prepared to the highest quality standards for taste, presentation, and safety.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment, following food safety and sanitation guidelines.
  • Assist with the proper storage and rotation of food to minimize waste and ensure freshness.
  • Monitor and maintain inventory levels of ingredients, supplies, and equipment.
  • Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure efficient kitchen operations and timely food preparation.
  • Follow all health and safety regulations and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Kitchen Manager or Head Chef.
  • Break down cardboard boxes and place them and other recyclables in the recycle bin.
  • Actively participate in Safety Plan and energy improvements.
  • Communicate both verbally and in writing to provide clear directives to staff.
  • Comply with attendance rules and be available to work on a regular basis.
  • Perform any other job-related duties as assigned.
