About The Position

Nucor Steel Darlington is seeking a strong leader for the position of a Roll Mill Day Supervisor. The Roll Mill Day Supervisor will promote safety as a value through establishing expectations, developing best practices in the area, and coordinating across divisions. The Day Supervisor will lead the Roll Mill's efforts to Take Care of our Customers through Operational and Commercial Excellence and aid in helping the division execute on our commercial strategy. This position is an integral member of the Roll Mill leadership team and will be responsible in leading the efforts to continually improve our safety, quality, cost, reliability, productivity, profitability, and team member development of our department and division. The successful candidate will be a resource and serve in development of Leads and Supervisors in the area. The successful candidate will collaborate between crews as well as with other departments to improve communication and efficiency. The qualified candidate must be willing to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays when necessary. The successful candidate will be assigned to one of four areas within the department: RM1, RM2, Roll Shop, or Shipping. Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Requirements

  • Four-year college degree or a minimum of 3 years in a leadership/technical role.

Nice To Haves

  • Rolling experience with shapes and SBQ products, including Rod and Coiler operations.
  • Roll Shop Experience.
  • Shipping Experience.
