About The Position

Waste Connections is looking for individuals who have a passion for driving, career growth and share our #1 Value: Safety! We are looking for Roll-Off Garbage Truck Driver to join the team at our location in Tampa Hauling, Tampa FL. Start time 5:00am Monday through Friday and Saturday as needed. $25.00 an hour DOE. The position requires the ability to safely operate a garbage truck on specified routes to collect solid waste. Waste experience preferred. The driver must be able to read route sheets and service each customer identified on the sheet or assigned by the dispatcher. The role involves performing routine inspection and maintenance on vehicles such as checking fluids, safety equipment, and tires. The job is physically demanding, requiring loading and unloading, at times with no helpers. The driver will operate hydraulic hand controls to lift/load refuse and dispose of trash at designated facilities. Courteous interaction with customers is essential, along with performing other miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned. A typical schedule for this position is Monday-Friday, with an occasional Saturday as needed, totaling a 50 hour work week.

Requirements

• Valid Class A or B CDL.
• At least 2 years of Roll-Off experience.
• Stable work history, preferably in a driver position.
• Able to lift 50+ pounds.
• Willing to work outside in all weather conditions.
• Garbage Truck experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate a garbage truck on specified routes to collect solid waste.
• Read route sheets and service each customer identified on the sheet or assigned by the dispatcher.
• Perform routine inspection and maintenance on vehicles such as checking fluids, safety equipment, and tires.
• Load and unload refuse, often without helpers.
• Operate hydraulic hand controls to lift/load refuse and dispose of trash at designated facilities.
• Interact courteously with customers.
• Perform other miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
