About The Position

The Roll-Off Driver is responsible for preparing, securing and the eventual transport of open top and compactor containers to various disposal sites which include landfills, transfer facilities and the various customer locations on Joint Base Elmendorf Richardson. (JBER). Will need to navigate landfills, driveways, alleyways, job sites and traffic filled roadways.

Requirements

• Possess and maintain a Valid Class B/CDL combination with Air Brake Endorsement.
• Class A preferred.
• Minimum two (2) years’ experience driving a Roll Off truck OR
• Minimum five (5) years' experience with operating other class B trucks.
• Possess skills in operating a personal computer and standard office equipment
• Knowledge of a variety of computer software applications in word processing, spreadsheets, database, (MSWord, Excel, Access, PowerPoint), and Outlook
• Knowledge of the mechanics of trucks to do minor vehicle maintenance
• Ability to plan out routes to ensure traveling is the most efficient way
• Ability to properly install and uninstall traction chains unaided on single and dual tires
• Ability to work in all weather conditions
• Ability to fluently speak, comprehend, and write English
• Knowledge of Front Load Garbage trucks operation

Responsibilities

• Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections; complete and submit driver inspection reports at beginning of each shift.
• Provide prompt and courteous roll-off delivery and removal services to JBER customers.
• Communicate with requesters Program Manager to schedule deliver, pick up and inspection of Roll Off containers.
• Drive Roll Off truck in accordance with all local, state and federal regulations and company guidelines.
• Maintain, update and complete driver log sheets to be turned in at the end of each shift.
• Using excellent customer service skills; establishes and maintains effective working relationships with other employees, officials and all members of JBER community.
• May be required to occasionally operate Front Load Garbage truck
• Other duties as assigned
