This position will be responsible for Panama City and Pensacola areas. Job Summary: Under supervision of the General Superintendent/ Supervisor, this position is primarily responsible for safely driving a commercial vehicle and requires compliance with safety & DOT Regulations, continuous training and customer service. Typical schedules are Monday Friday, with weekends required as needed. Dump Truck drivers operate trucks to and from the shop, transport materials from job sites to disposal sites, and assist crew as needed. Must have a valid Class B CDL license. Low Boy/Tractor Trailer drivers operate combination vehicles over 26,000 lbs., tow trailers over 10,000 lbs., and must be able to strap, chain, and tarp loads as needed. Must have a valid Class A CDL license. Roll-off drivers operate heavy-duty trucks and are responsible for preparing, loading, and transporting large mobile open top and compactor containers to disposal sites, transfer or recycle facilities and customer locations. Must have a valid Class A or B CDL license. Incumbent is expected to have excellent attendance and communication skills, possess the ability to build lasting business relationships, and exhibit professionalism. Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities: Operate vehicle in accordance with Royal American Construction / Southern Coastal Containers company policies, OSHA (Occupational and Safety Health Act) and DOT (Department of Transportation) requirements as well as all local, municipal, state, and federal laws Perform complete pre- and post-operation inspection of the vehicle in accordance with Company policy to ensure tire pressure, fluid levels, safety equipment, gauges, and controls are in proper working order. Report any safety issues to the General Superintendent/ Supervisor or Foreman Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe work area (truck and trailer) Immediately report any unsafe situations or service-related issues to the General Superintendent/ Supervisor Attend and participate in all scheduled/ required training programs, briefings, and meetings Notify the General Superintendent/ Supervisor of any incidents, accidents, injures, or property damage Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs): Work under multiple time constraints Navigate driveways, alleyways, lots, high traffic roadways and may operate in tight overhead environments while on industrial routes Highly skilled backing maneuvers are essential to successfully perform this job Education and Experience: High School Diploma or Equivalent One to three years experience driving (dependent on position hired) Valid CDL: Class A or Class B Driver with minimum 1 to 3 years experience based on position hired: Dump truck Class B CDL with 1-year previous experience Roll off Class A or B CDL with 1 to 2 years previous experience Low Boy/Tractor trailer Class A CDL with 2 3 years previous experience Previous experience in civil utilities preferred Physical Demands: Requires pushing, pulling, bending, twisting and lifting up to 50 pounds Exposure to an environment, which involves dirt, odors, noise, weather extremes or similar elements throughout the workday Low Boy/Tractor trailer drivers must be able to strap, chain, and tarp loads as needed Qualifications
