About The Position

The Release of Information Specialist is responsible for supporting the organization by obtaining records from other healthcare organizations, processing referral requests, maintaining ROI documents in the electronic health record, providing support to the release of information vendor, and processing all disability and FMLA forms. This position will also process all restriction, amendment, and accounting of disclosure requests.

Requirements

• Wisconsin residents only eligible to apply
• Completion of medical terminology course within one year of hire.
• Three years in healthcare setting, preferably in HIM department and/or release of information.
• Experience with electronic health record systems.
• Employee may not at any time have been or be excluded from participation in any federally funded program, including Medicare and Medicaid. This is a condition of employment. Employee must immediately notify his/her manager or the Health System’s Compliance Officer if he/she is threatened with exclusion or becomes excluded from any federally funded program

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience with worker’s compensation and disability claims.
• ROI experience is strongly desired
