Were just built to be better. We are a great company. We are seeking a Survey/Instrument Operator to join our Atlanta, GA team! Come join us! Job responsibilities include but are not limited to: Hold prism pole, GNSS rover pole or level rod at designated points to assist in determining positions, elevations, and laying out stakes for map making, construction, land, and other surveys. Keep truck stocked with supplies and maintain condition of all survey equipment. Perform field work and related manual labor in support of land surveying operations. Moving a range pole or level rod over all types of terrain to obtain elevations, contours, location, elevation and dimension of land features. Moving prism pole into proper horizontal and vertical positions for accurate data collection. Data Collector operation Assists survey crew in setting up equipment and preparing job site for survey. Prepares truck daily with necessary equipment to perform survey work. Removing obstacles / clearing brush and trees away from survey line. Work as part of a crew under the direction of a crew chief. Reports for work at Battery Atlanta office each workday. Performs rod technician position duties and trains new rod technicians once proficient. Learns how to use field instruments and maintains instruments in good working order. Operates all field instruments including levels, total stations, GPS units, and data collectors Perform basic calibrations to all field equipment. Operates a data collector for various survey applications. Performs Basic First Aid if required. Able to learn and comprehend, the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) Survey manual. Inscribes basic field notes including level notes. Monitors project-related, on-site issues and provides input for production improvement. Participates in continuing education classes identified as important to improve skills. Supervises field crew on an as-needed basis during absence of Field Supervisor or Party Chief. Performs other duties as assigned.
