Requirements

  • Two year technical degree or equivalent education and/or experience.
  • Valid driver's license in state of residence required.
  • Must be able to lift and carry 50 lbs regularly, and 100 lbs occasionally.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
  • The employee is regularly required to talk or hear.
  • The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.
  • Employee is required to occasionally walk in customer field locations which may include inclines, uneven surfaces, and a variety of weather conditions.
  • Employee must be able to regularly bend, stoop, crawl, lay down, twist and push.
  • Employee is required to wear appropriate personal protective equipment including but not limited to shoes/boots, hard hats, or respirators.

Responsibilities

  • Operates painting equipment and auxiliary equipment.
  • Tests and mixes paint as required.
  • Keeps paint pots supplied with paint of correct quality.
  • Starts up and shuts down the equipment as required.
  • Observes rods on conveyors as they pass through the unit, culling out crooked rods.
  • Keeps rods separated and packaged for each separate size and grade.
  • Paints identification color on protectors.
  • Responsible for quality and quantity of work helpers.
  • Obtains reasonable production with minimum supervision.
  • Maintains work area and equipment in a clean and orderly manner.
  • Informs supervisor of any malfunction of equipment.
