About The Position

As a Rocker Framer Carpenter Apprentice at E&K of Kansas City, Inc., you will be part of a dedicated team committed to delivering high-quality interior and exterior finishing services. You will learn to cut drywall to the appropriate size for installation, carry and hang drywall using a screw gun, and cut metal or wood studs to size. The position requires you to construct and install framed partitions and various types of bulkheads, ensuring that all work aligns with plans and blueprints or established construction standards. In addition to the technical skills, you will be responsible for putting on corner and ceiling beads, which are essential for finishing drywall installations. The role may also involve cleanup tasks, such as scrapping and moving materials, tools, or equipment. You will be expected to erect and dismantle scaffolds safely, which is a critical part of the job to ensure a safe working environment. Furthermore, you will learn to calculate unit costs based on the quantity of material installed, hours worked, and labor dollars, providing you with valuable insights into the financial aspects of construction projects.
