About The Position

The Rock Drill Operator plays a critical role in construction, mining, and quarrying operations by efficiently and safely operating hammer drills to bore holes into rock surfaces. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Proven experience operating hammer drills or similar rock drilling equipment.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel to various job sites within the United States.
  • Knowledge of safety standards and practices related to rock drilling operations.
  • Physical ability to perform manual labor and work in outdoor environments under varying weather conditions.

Nice To Haves

  • Certification in heavy equipment operation or rock drilling.
  • Experience working in mining, quarrying, or large-scale construction projects.
  • Familiarity with basic mechanical troubleshooting and equipment repair.
  • Completion of OSHA safety training or equivalent safety certifications.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and drilling plans.

Responsibilities

  • Operate hammer drills and related equipment to drill holes in rock for blasting or other construction purposes.
  • Perform routine inspections and maintenance on drilling equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety compliance.
  • Interpret drilling plans and specifications to accurately position and execute drilling tasks.
  • Coordinate with site supervisors and team members to schedule drilling activities and minimize operational disruptions.
  • Adhere strictly to safety protocols and regulatory requirements to prevent accidents and ensure a safe work environment.
