We are seeking a passionate and skilled Robotics/UAS Engineer to join our innovative team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in unmanned aerial systems (UAS) and will help us design, build, test, and evaluate UAS-based systems. The ideal candidate will be interested in working with all aspects of UAS software, mechanical, and electrical development within a multi-disciplinary team. This is a hands-on role for someone who thrives in a fast-paced and collaborative environment and enjoys taking ideas from concept to reality.

  • Design, prototype, and iterate mechanical components and assemblies.
  • Integrate UAS hardware and software, including payload systems, sensors, and communication links.
  • Develop embedded software and integrate sensor payloads on onboard computers and microcontrollers.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless hardware and software integration.
  • Conduct system-level testing and troubleshooting to ensure reliability and performance under various operational conditions.
  • Plan, execute, and document validation tests for new and existing UAS designs.
  • Perform detailed diagnostics and analysis of mechanical, electrical, and software components during system evaluations.
  • Maintain detailed records of design processes, test results, and integration procedures.
  • Participate in cross-functional design reviews to improve product architecture.
  • Write comprehensive technical reports and weekly project updates.
  • B.S. in Robotics, Mechatronics, Aerospace Engineering, or related field with 2+ years' experience with unmanned systems (Level II).
  • B.S. in Robotics, Mechatronics, Aerospace Engineering, or related field with 5+ years' experience with unmanned systems (Level III).
  • Proficiency in CAD software for mechanical design (NX or similar).
  • Experience with embedded systems, hardware integration, and system-level debugging.
  • Background in programming languages such as C++ or Python.
  • Experience with UAS autopilot systems (ROS, PX4, Ardupilot).
  • Proven track record in conducting UAS flight tests and system troubleshooting.
  • FAA Part 107 certification preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
