The Robotics Technician helps implement cutting-edge robotics solutions in the warehousing logistics space. This position is a cross-disciplinary role which works in conjunction with various engineering disciplines to design, prototype, troubleshoot and deploy robotics systems. The Robotics Technician is critical to ensure ArcBest Technologies delivers safe and reliable automation solutions and superior service to stakeholders.

  • Conduct preventative or corrective maintenance action of autonomous mobile robots or other automation equipment.
  • Other duties and projects, as assigned.
  • Prototype, build, and troubleshoot experimental hardware alongside engineering teams and researchers.
  • Work in a team setting to accomplish department goals.
  • Troubleshoot and maintain PLCs, HMI, sensors, controllers, and other automation related equipment.
  • Maintain a clean and safe workplace.
  • Debug, test, maintain, and repair autonomous mobile robots or automation equipment.
  • Follow written work instructions and help engineers develop processes through open feedback and documentation.
  • Work on projects ranging from small electromechanical or hydraulic assemblies to fully integrated robots.
  • Read engineering drawings, assembly diagrams, and electrical schematics, or other verbal, digital and written instructions to build and install electro-mechanical components.
  • Create and maintain detailed records of issue resolution, logging events during the repair workflow, and accounting of parts consumed.
  • Associate's Degree in robot technology or a related major.
  • Bachelor's Degree in robot technology or related, preferred.
  • 1 year experience in related field, preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
