About The Position

JOB DESCRIPTION: Will coordinate the services and program, participate in growth by improving efficiencies, standards, and performance of the robotic team. This position is responsible for planning, implementing, and coordinating services and activities associated with the robotic system. The robotic surgery coordinator acts as a clinical liaison and oversees the technical and clinical aspects of the minimally invasive surgery program across all affected specialties. The robotic surgery coordinator will participate in training and mentoring of new staff members, enhancing staff skills and knowledgebase. Assists in identifying staff education needs based on clinical situations and recommends appropriate in-service. The robotic surgery coordinator will work with surgeons, nurses, first assistants and scrub techs to streamline and standardize robotic service lines to improve efficiency and quality of care. The robotic surgery coordinator will be required to maintain surgical tech skills and assist with surgical procedures on a routine basis, assist with robotic system troubleshooting, movement, setup and breakdown. Ensure supplies to support the program are available and in good working order. Maintain inventory and assist in keeping preference cards up-to-date. Ability to communicate effectively, be self-directed and comfortable with managing multiple responsibilities of the program, including clinical, administrative, educational, and promotional components. Other duties as necessary to support the minimally invasive robotic surgical program.

Requirements

  • A high school diploma or equivalent
  • Graduation from an accredited surgical technology program
  • Must be able to function as a clinical expert in CVOR service line and other respective service lines within the minimally invasive surgery program
  • 3-5 years' experience in robotic assisted surgery procedures
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Be self-directed
  • Comfortable with managing multiple responsibilities of the program, including clinical, administrative, educational, and promotional components

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with cardiothoracic procedures preferred
