About The Position

The Robotics Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing preventive and corrective maintenance on airport systems and equipment at Cleveland International Airport. This includes MIT System but may also include: Passenger Boarding Bridges (PBB), Baggage Handling Systems (BHS), Checked Baggage Inspection Systems (CBIS), and related control systems and mechanical infrastructure. The Technician ensures all work is completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with company, airport, and regulatory standards. This position requires hands-on troubleshooting, repair, and documentation of mechanical, electrical, and control system issues to support the continuous operation of critical airport assets.

Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year of maintenance experience in an industrial, airport, or material handling environment preferred.
  • Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
  • Familiarity with conveyors, drives, sensors, PLCs, and other automated system components.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and maintenance manuals.
  • Experience using Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) such as Maximo or similar preferred.
  • Competency with hand tools, power tools, and electrical testing equipment.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. and work at heights or in confined spaces as required.
  • Availability for variable shifts, weekends, and holidays to support 24/7 operations.
  • Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to meet company insurability requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance (PM) and corrective maintenance (CM) on MIT, PBB, BHS, CBIS, and associated equipment.
  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and control system faults using proper tools and test equipment.
  • Execute repairs in accordance with established procedures, safety standards, and OEM specifications.
  • Complete all work orders accurately within the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Follow lockout/tagout (LOTO), confined space, PPE, and other OSHA safety protocols at all times.
  • Report on equipment malfunctions, potential failures, and unsafe conditions to the Supervisor promptly.
  • Support operational uptime by responding quickly to service calls, jams, or breakdowns.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas, tools, and maintenance facilities.
  • Participate in training programs to enhance technical skills and maintain certifications.
  • Assist with spare parts inventory tracking and requisitions as directed.
  • Communicate effectively with coworkers, supervisors, and airport stakeholders to ensure safe and efficient operations.
  • Uphold PBP Services’ standards for safety, professionalism, and reliability.
