About The Position

Elmer Chocolate is the oldest family-owned chocolate company in America. Our factory in Ponchatoula is the 2nd-largest manufacturer of Valentine boxed chocolate in North America. Our automated robotic machinery and manufacturing assembly lines require continual maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair.

Requirements

2 year program in manufacturing engineering technology or equivalent with emphasis on mechanical/electric or 2 year program in automation/robotics preferred.
2 years of experience with repair, and maintenance of food processing equipment preferred.
Mechanical and electrical skills.
Ability to identify, evaluate, and problem solve.
Entrepreneurial spirit.
Excellent communication skills.
Proficient software skills, Outlook, Word, Excel.
18 years of age & pass a drug screen
Reliable transportation & dependable attendance
Ability to work overtime and weekends if needed

Nice To Haves

Electronic skills a plus.

Responsibilities

Maintain, repair, install, troubleshoot, inspect and modify manufacturing equipment (mechanical and electrical).
Perform equipment changeovers for various product sizes on various packaging machinery.
Assess needs in regards to maintenance, spare parts, modernization, improvement of process.
Train operators.
