  • AWS Certified Welding Engineer (CWE) or equivalent credential a plus

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and execute complex robotic welding system integration projects with vendors and NM facilities
  • Prepare specifications and requirements for robotic welding cells in accordance with NM Automation and Controls Standards
  • Develop robotic cell layouts, schematic diagrams, weld fixture designs, and control system drawings including BOM creation
  • Program, configure, and optimize robotic welding systems including path planning, weld parameter development, and torch configuration
  • Produce system designs, PLC, HMI, and SCADA programs and configurations to support robotic welding operations
  • Initiate and support multiple robotic welding projects and implementations of varying sizes and degrees of complexity
  • Integrate legacy robotic and controls systems (PLC/Controllers, Drives, Robot Controllers, AC and DC motors)
  • Ensure that projects are planned and executed in a timely and efficient manner and routinely report progress
  • Provide technical guidance during build, testing, and commissioning of new or modified robotic welding cells and systems
  • Simulate, test, and troubleshoot issues with robotic welding programs and systems; document and report findings
  • Investigate robotic welding and production issues at NM sites; must be able to diagnose and resolve issues remotely
  • Develop and maintain weld procedure specifications (WPS) and robotic weld parameter libraries
  • Prepare technical manuals, work instructions, training materials, and troubleshooting guides required to support robotic welding production activities
  • Support Preventive Maintenance Planning and Coordination by ensuring all PM plans and tasks are in place for robotic welding systems
