Robotics & Autonomy Engineering Intern

Terabase EnergyDavis, CA
14h$25 - $27Onsite

About The Position

Terabase Energy is accelerating the deployment of utility-scale solar power through automation, robotics, and digital technologies. Our Autonomy group develops robotic systems and intelligent software that improve the speed, safety, and cost of building large solar farms. We work at the intersection of robotics, autonomy, controls, and real-world field systems, building technology that operates in outdoor construction environments. We are seeking a highly curious and motivated engineering intern to join the Autonomy team in Davis, CA for Summer 2026. This is a hands-on role where you will work with engineers developing robotic and autonomous systems used in solar farm construction. The ideal candidate is curious, adventurous, and eager to tackle a wide range of technical challenges — from software to hardware to field testing. You will gain experience working on real robotic systems operating in real environments. Depending on your interests and project needs, you may contribute to: Development of robotics software and autonomy algorithms Robot perception, localization, or navigation systems Sensor integration (cameras, LiDAR, GPS, etc.) Controls and motion planning Data collection and analysis from robotic systems Field testing of robotic platforms at solar construction sites Prototyping and debugging robotic hardware and software Tools and infrastructure supporting autonomy development Interns will work closely with robotics engineers and have opportunities to contribute to real projects deployed in the field.
