About The Position

The Robotic Welder is a key position in our Metal Tech operation. The position applies appropriate welding processes to join, surface, fabricate or repair metal parts and assemblies, as specified by work orders or production drawings. Reporting to the Production Supervisor, you’ll primarily work with a small team of machine operators and welders. A highlight of your day-to-day will include:

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates willingness to take direction and follows instructions.
  • Maintains a safe and clean work environment, returns all tools after use to proper storage location, and performs routine housekeeping (i.e.: cleaning, organizing). Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures. Identifies unsafe working conditions and notifies supervisor.
  • Operates and maintains robotic welding equipment; identifies and selects proper fixturing; opens and uses standard programs for robotic welders; understands machine and process limitations. Ensures work is to specifications including dimensional criteria, squareness standards and weld call outs through personal checking of product; contacts appropriate person for first part approval on each new task.
  • Reads production drawings and manufactures products in accordance with engineering specifications. Calls correct programs and operates CNC equipment as required to produce parts that conform to specifications and production schedule. Performs any manual weld operations. Communicates any deviations with supervisor.
  • Monitors the machine operation and takes necessary steps to allow the machine to function properly in good working order, including troubleshooting any machine issues with supervisor and/or maintenance assisting in the diagnosis and corrective action as needed.
