The Robotic Welder Operator is responsible for operating, monitoring, and maintaining robotic welding equipment to produce high-quality welded components in accordance with engineering specifications, safety standards, work instructions and production schedules. This role supports efficient manufacturing operations by ensuring consistent weld quality and minimal downtime.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED (technical training preferred)
  • Experience operating robotic welding systems or automated manufacturing equipment
  • Basic knowledge of welding processes (MIG, TIG, spot welding, etc.)
  • Ability to read blueprints, weld symbols, and work instructions
  • Pass basic HYDAC weld test within 90 days of hire date
  • Familiarity with Metric System
  • Strong attention to detail and quality

Nice To Haves

  • Certification in welding or robotic welding operation
  • Experience with robot brands such as Fanuc
  • Basic knowledge of robotic programming or teach pendant operation

Responsibilities

  • Set up, operate, and monitor robotic welding systems and peripheral equipment
  • Load and unload parts, fixtures, and materials accurately and safely
  • Inspect welded parts for quality, dimensions, and defects using gauges and visual inspection
  • Perform minor program adjustments and parameter changes as required
  • Conduct routine preventive maintenance and basic troubleshooting on robotic welding equipment
  • Identify welding issues (porosity, misalignment, incomplete welds) and report or correct them
  • Follow work instructions, blueprints, and welding symbols
  • Maintain accurate production and quality records
  • Comply with safety, quality, and housekeeping (5S) standards
  • Collaborate with maintenance, engineering, and quality teams to improve processes
