Basic understanding of mechanical assembly, electrical wiring (without power), pneumatics, and print comprehension.

Requirements

  • Knowledge- LEAN Principles
  • Skills- Safely use overhead crane.
  • Ability to obtain a forklift license.
  • Safely use hand tools.
  • Safely use power tools.
  • Proper use of torque wrench.
  • Ability to use multi-meter to check voltage and amperage.
  • Tap high voltage transformer.
  • Familiar with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Abilities- Ability to foster and work within a team environment
  • Actively participates in safety programs and complies with all Columbia safety policies
  • Follows written and verbal instructions effectively
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area
  • Displays attention to detail and consistently follows Standard Work Instructions (when available) when completing tasks
  • Demonstrates the qualities of a "Team Player" by accepting new responsibilities and filling in for other employees when needed
  • Self-motivated and has the ability to work with supervision
  • Communicates well with peers, supervisor, customers, vendors, and other department
  • Actively participates in 6S and other Continuous Improvement (CI) efforts
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1-3+ years of mechanical assembly experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble conveyors and associated system equipment.
  • Lay out system equipment per mechanical prints.
  • Lay out system electrical devices per electrical prints.
  • Build small assemblies and pre-builds.
  • Replace and repair mechanical components.
  • Wire peripheral equipment into panels.
  • Identify motor FLA, set motor starter overloads.
  • Accurately red line mechanical and electrical prints.
  • Adjust system components.
  • Other duties as assigned.
