About The Position

The position involves performing welding duties on various types of outdoor power equipment at Exmark, a leading manufacturer of commercial mowers and equipment. The role requires reading and interpreting project plans, executing MIG welding tasks, maintaining quality standards, and ensuring a safe working environment. The successful candidate will contribute to production efficiency and quality improvement while adhering to safety protocols.

Requirements

• Ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
• Some technical knowledge and ability to follow standard work and procedures.
• Ability and experience in using a variety of different welders and demonstrated welding techniques.
• Good communication skills (verbal and written).
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to lift/move up to 10 pounds regularly; 25 pounds frequently; 40 pounds occasionally.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret project plans, blueprints, and other written instructions and diagrams.
• Select appropriate weld jig, position and secure piece parts in weld jig by loading parts by hand or by hoist.
• Perform MIG tack welds and seam welds based on project needs.
• Set up welding cells for production runs.
• Buff and inspect welded surfaces to ensure quality standards are met.
• Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, regulations, and participating in 5S initiatives.
• Perform daily maintenance tasks on fixtures including running robot through torch alignment, cleaning fixtures, and changing weld consumables.
• Strive to meet all established safety, quality, cost, and productivity standards.
• Seek to improve production methods, equipment performance, and overall product quality.
• Identify and apply Lean methodologies to ensure processes are scientifically controlled and continuously improved.
• Willingly perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
