Requirements

  • 3 years Post-Secondary Education from a Mechatronics / Robotics Program
  • Minimum 1 year work experience in a related capacity
  • Proficiency with MS Office programs
  • PLC Programming Experience
  • Robot Programming
  • Exceptional communication skills, verbal and written
  • Excellent working knowledge of products and processes
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced multi-tasked environment with good attention to detail
  • Ability to work effectively with others and in unsupervised situations
  • Able to work overtime as needed

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in injection molding plant is an asset

Responsibilities

  • Assist Launch Engineer in developing / updating secondary equipment sourcing standards
  • Provide lessons learned input in writing RFQs for new equipment
  • Independently oversee equipment design in absence of Launch Engineer
  • Maintain equipment open issues list during equipment design / build stage and communicate concerns to Engineering Manager
  • Communicate with integrator to resolve open issues
  • Attend and provide feedback on equipment run offs at integrator
  • Work closely with integrator and lead equipment install on site, ensuring compliance to company policies and protocols
  • Get trained on the new / existing equipment and provide training to key stakeholders
  • Independently setup / troubleshoot new / in production stand alone de-gators or Robotic de-gating
  • Assist setup of new Robot cells / secondary equipment and independently troubleshoot new / in production equipment
  • Set-up end of arm tooling on robots
  • Assist Launch Engineers for tryouts or as required
  • Write training instructions / procedures for floor personnel
  • Write work instructions / Enter PM check list for secondary equipment
  • Operate overhead crane in a safe manner
  • Perform other duties as required
  • Work closely with Maintenance during installs, equipment troubleshooting and PM of Robots / secondary equipment
  • Ensure all Health and Safety and Process procedures are followed within department
  • Follow all Organization codes, values, policies, practices, procedures and instructions in the area of quality, environmental health & safety, security and business operations
  • Recommend and participate in Continuous Improvement activities
  • Promote atmosphere of teamwork
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment
  • Work in compliance with the Quality and Business Operating Systems and all health and safety and environmental legislation
  • Complete any other duties as assigned by the Engineering Manager
  • Abide by Company Value Statement and the Company Standard Code of Conduct
