About The Position

Are you a detail-oriented programmer with a passion for robotics and automation? As a Robot Programmer, you will be responsible for developing, modifying, and optimizing robotic programs to support production operations. You will ensure programs achieve required coating characteristics while supporting engineering, production, and qualification activities. This role plays a critical part in maintaining efficient robotic processes and advancing automation capabilities. Primary Functions As a key contributor to our automation and production efforts, you will: Robot Programming: Develop and modify robot programs using YASKAWA-MOTOMAN INFORM and ABB programming languages. Continuous Learning: Stay current with programming languages, technologies, and best practices related to Motoman and ABB systems. Program Testing & Optimization: Test and refine programs to achieve required coating characteristics and performance standards. Qualification Support: Assist engineering teams with part qualification activities. Program Management: Maintain robot and part program libraries and structure at both spray booth and central database levels under the guidance of the Senior Robot Programmer. Offline Programming: Perform offline programming using ABB software tools. Fixture Improvement: Identify issues with existing part fixtures and collaborate with CAD designers on solutions. Operational Expertise: Understand booth operations and set parameters for various spraying technologies. Equipment Operation: Operate robotic spraying booths as needed to support production. Additional Duties Perform other responsibilities as assigned, including: Follow verbal and written instructions from the Production Department and adhere to company policies and procedures. Maintain flexibility to work overtime and weekends when required. Support additional tasks as requested by the Senior Robot Programmer.

Requirements

  • Experience programming industrial robots, preferably Motoman and ABB systems.
  • Understanding of methodologies and techniques related to mechatronic systems.
  • Ability to mentor and train apprentice programmers; may supervise apprentice programmers after initial training.
  • Work closely with engineering and production teams to translate technical instructions into effective coating programs.
  • Strong ability to follow detailed written and verbal instructions accurately.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Regular onsite attendance during designated business hours is essential.
